Strangers stopped in the street, asked their name, and photographed where they stood.

The method is exactly what the title says. She stops someone, they talk, and if they agree she photographs them on the spot — never moved to better light, never rearranged. She writes down the name. The series is the closest thing she has made to a portrait of a country by accident.
